We are seeking two experienced and motivated Court of Protection Solicitors, with one based in our Streatham office and the other at our office in London Bridge. The successful candidates will be responsible for advising and representing clients in a range of complex legal matters. Many of our clients have ongoing personal injury or clinical negligence claims, which often result in multi-million-pound awards. This role demands strong analytical and financial skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage sensitive matters with professionalism and empathy.

The Firm
The Role
- Advising clients, families, and carers about issues relating to mental capacity and the Court of Protection process.
- Making applications to the Court of Protection, including for the appointment of deputies, statutory wills, and complex financial or health decisions.
- Acting as a professional deputy or supporting lay deputies in the management of a client’s property and affairs.
- Areas of work will include the management of Property and Affairs Deputyships, working with brain-injured and vulnerable clients, Trust management, assisting with tax affairs and accounts, drafting Personal Injury Trusts, Statutory Wills, Welfare Deputyship applications and other associated applications to the Court of Protection.
- Handling disputes relating to the Court of Protection, such as challenges to an individual’s capacity, disagreements about deputyship, or objections to decisions concerning health and welfare.
- Preparing and reviewing Lasting Powers of Attorney and advising on their use and registration.
- Liaising with healthcare professionals, social services, and other stakeholders to gather evidence and ensure the client’s best interests are met.
- Providing training and updates to clients and colleagues on developments in Court of Protection law and practice.
- Maintaining accurate records and complying with all regulatory and professional standards, including those set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
- Some clients have complex disputes involving property or families that require urgent intervention and support to resolve delicate issues.
